In 2020, the USBC Open Championships returns to Reno, Nevada, for its 117th tournament. The only prerequisite for participating in this prestigious and historical event is being a USBC member. Competitors will experience superior competition bowling at the newly renovated National Bowling Stadium, while exploring everything Reno has to offer.

An ongoing renovation project at the NBS previously included the addition of the Kingpin Club and bowling lanes on the ground floor, along with a satellite version of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame, plus a new squad room. The recent phase of the makeover includes an expanded settee area and concourse redesign.  
There event includes three divisions based on skill level: The Regular Division, for those who average 176 and above, the Standard Division for those with averages from 156-175 and the Classified Division, for bowlers who average 155 or below.

*New squad schedule for 2020: Team times are 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Doubles and singles squads are held at 7 a.m., 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Note: Teams included five players.

New for 2020, squad times for the Bowlers Journal Championships are scheduled separately from practice session times.  

Bowlers Journal squad times for 2020 are: 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.

Practice session times are: 8 a.m., 4 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.
